Swimming sport logo.Lisbeth Lenton has again beaten her own 100 metre freestyle world record time, making it twice in two nights, in the finals of the Telstra Australian Short Course Championships.

Ms Lenton raced to the finish line in 51.70 seconds, making her 0.21 seconds quicker than her previous record-breaking win in the semi final.

The 20 year old Ms Lenton clocked 51.91 seconds in the semi final at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre, the venue for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games Swimming events. She beat Swede Therese Alshammer's mark with a previous lowest time of 52.17 seconds.

She became the first woman in history to swim under 52 seconds in the 100 metre semi final event.

The winning streak for Ms Lenton has continued from her victory two weeks earlier in the 50 metre freestyle event at the World Championships in Montreal
