The Group Ticket Offer has reopened

The Group Ticket Offer is now open.

Woolworths has agreed to extend the Group Ticket Offer incentive until 30 November 2005 which rewards eligible groups who purchase a minimum of 20 tickets with an additional two tickets courtesy of the supermarket retailer.

The Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Group Ticket Offer incentive gives schools, community groups and sporting associations across Australia the opportunity to receive two additional tickets when purchasing 20 or more to any single event.

Tickets are available across a range of events including the spectacular Ceremonies and Athletics at the redeveloped Melbourne Cricket Ground, the action packed Rugby 7s at Telstra Dome and a range of top class sports events including Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Squash, Table Tennis and Weightlifting.

By buying a minimum of 20 tickets to an event, the group organiser will receive two additional tickets courtesy of the Group Ticket Offer sponsor, supermarket retailer Woolworths.

The Games' Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Harnden, said the Group Ticket Offer is open to all schools, local councils, sporting associations and social groups, with tickets sold on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability.

“What better way to be a part of the action then attending the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games with colleagues, friends or team mates,” Mr Harnden said.

“By offering tickets to groups we want to give school friends, sporting clubs, community groups and social clubs an opportunity to get involved in what will be the event of a lifetime.”

Groups can still purchase tickets from 15 October 2005, when general on sale ticketing commences, but the Group Ticket Offer and Woolworths incentive is far better value.

Games Minister Mr Justin Madden urged schools and community groups to get involved.

“The offer represents a chance to experience the Games the most rewarding way, as a group.

“Tickets are still available for groups to see the world fastest man, Asafa Powell at the MCG or Glenn Ella’s Australian Rugby 7s team taking on the might of the Commonwealth.”

The National Australia Bank Visa Card 6 per cent rebate offer, which was part of the original Group Ticket Offer, has now ended.
