A representative in the 1995 Australian Schools Cricket Team, Clay also won the 1995 and 1996 NSW School Sports Star of the Year Awards.
Clay's brother, Ryan, who had qualified in the shot put for the 1998 World Juniors became the highest paid schoolboy Rugby League or Rugby Union player when he signed with Sydney Roosters Rugby League team in the late '90s.
His father, Paul, was a talented sprinter in the 1960's and played rugby league for Balmain in the '66 Grand Final.
Clay won silver at the 1994 World School Games and bronze at the 1996 World Junior Championships. He has won four Australian titles in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2005. He is also an eleven time NSW Champion and the NSW all-time number one. |
