Australia's Loudy Tourky departs the 10m Platform.
Australia’s Loudy Tourky has won gold in the Women’s 10m Platform, ahead of teammate Chantelle Newbury and Canada's Emilie Heymans.
Tourky recorded a wining score of 737.75 points, while Newbery's 733.55 was enough for silver. Heymans picked up bronze with 733.50 points.
Tourky won gold in the 10m Platform at Manchester and bronze in the same event in Athens.
"I was quite disappointed at the start but it got better," explained Tourky. "By the last dive I knew Chantelle could do it and I knew I could do it too. I can't believe I won.
"I misjudged one dive. It's the most frustrating thing in the world. I just had to keep my head together and do it. Chantelle is an amazing diver. I saw her dive on replay but I knew I could match it.”
Former world champion, Heymans managed to pull together after a shaky dive in an earlier round when she hit the water at an angle.
"I'm a little disappointed, especially on the second dive, it really killed me. It was a good competition, really close," said Heymans.
In the 10m Platform event, Heymans was fourth at Athens, won silver at Manchester and was fifth at the Sydney Olympics. She began her career as a gymnast and started diving at the age of 11.
