Cycling Time Trial

St Kilda Foreshore

“What an amazing opportunity to race along one of Melbourne’s most scenic foreshores. The course will provide the perfect opportunity to challenge world class cyclists and it also presents spectators with a day of high adrenalin action. Personally, I can’t wait.” - Katie Mactier, current 3000m Individual Pursuit World Champion.

The Time Trial takes in one of Melbourne’s traditional competitive and recreational cycling locations, the foreshore area of St Kilda and scenic Beach Road. Competitors in this event depart at one-minute intervals to face the challenge of maintaining their speed and concentration in a personal battle against the course, the elements and the clock.

  • The start and finish line will be located in Beaconsfield Parade and the course follows the road along the foreshore starting at St Kilda, along Beach Road to Beaumaris. The women will cycle to Balcombe Road, Beaumaris, and then complete the return journey. The men will turn just beyond Naples Road, Mentone.
