Other Diane started shooting in 2002 and is coached by her father, Tim Swanton. Diane Won the South African Championships in 2003 up till 2005 thereby obtaining her South African colours in Double trap and Olympic trap. Diane has concentrated on the Olympic Trap disciple from 2004 as the ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) has taken the Olympic Double Trap discipline out of the Olympic Games.

Diane's brother Byron is also competing in the shooting team for South Africa.

Diane has won the inter-provincials in the ladies categories from 2002 up till 2005. She obtained a quota place for the Athens Olympic Games 2004 by coming first in the African Championships held in South Africa.
