Brooke uses three turns in competition. After the Games she plans to train in using four.
Brooke has an interesting past time that involves throwing frozen fish. For the last three years Brooke has won the Port Lincoln Tuna Tossing competition, which is a competition to see who can throw a 8-9 kilogram frozen tuna the furthest. Brooke averages a throw of twenty-one-odd metres.
Brooke's Uncle, Brian Booth, was an Australian Cricket captain and was part of the Australian Hockey team that came fifth in the 1956 Olympics.
Brooke's husband, Darren Billet, is also a hammer-thrower.
Brooke's gold medal-winning throw at these games of 67.90m set a new games record. |
